Powered by the Sun
CFS Haldia has recently commissioned a large-scale rooftop solar power plant โ a landmark step in our commitment to sustainable, future-ready logistics operations.

The newly installed solar power system at CFS Haldia harnesses abundant sunlight to generate clean electricity directly on-site, significantly reducing our dependence on the conventional power grid and diesel-based backup generation.
The installation covers a substantial portion of the warehouse and operational building rooftops, with high-efficiency photovoltaic panels engineered to perform optimally even in variable weather conditions โ ensuring consistent power supply year-round.
This initiative directly supports our AEO-LO and C-TPAT compliance frameworks, which increasingly evaluate environmental responsibility alongside security standards. The solar plant positions CFS Haldia as one of the greenest CFS facilities in East India.
For our customers โ importers, exporters, and shipping lines โ this translates to a measurably lower carbon footprint for goods handled at Haldia, supporting their own ESG reporting and green supply-chain goals.
Advantages of Solar at CFS Haldia
Significant Cost Savings
Solar generation slashes electricity bills for lighting, cranes, CCTV, refrigeration, and office operations โ savings that help keep handling tariffs competitive.
Lower Carbon Footprint
Every kilowatt-hour of solar power avoids COโ emissions from coal-fired grid electricity, directly reducing the environmental impact of every container handled.
Energy Independence
On-site generation reduces vulnerability to grid outages and voltage fluctuations, ensuring uninterrupted operations for time-sensitive EXIM cargo.
Operational Reliability
Solar panels have no moving parts and require minimal maintenance, providing a highly reliable, long-life power source that complements existing DG backup systems.
ESG & Compliance Edge
Customers increasingly need green supply chains for ESG reporting. Solar-powered handling at CFS Haldia directly contributes to Scope 3 emission reductions for shippers.
Sustainable Future
The solar initiative is part of Greenways Group's broader commitment to net-zero logistics, setting a benchmark for responsible CFS operations across India.
